Sheriff's Athletic League
De Anza Rescue Unit, Inc offers a
search & rescue program for kids 14
to 18 years of age. We are able to
accomplish this under the umbrella of
the Sheriff's Athletic League.

DARU members instruct them in the
proper use of a compass and GPS.
We instruct them in proper radio
communications and also familiarize
them with the 10 code.  We also
instruct them on foot tracking as well
as the use of the Maptech computer
software we use.

This has been a very positive program
as it has given DARU new young
members when they turn 18 who know
what to expect and who are familiar
with the operations of DARU.
